The Motoman Robotics Division of Yakasawa America has announced the expansion of its HC-series portfolio. The HC10DTP and HC20DTP models are six-axis collaborative robots (cobots) that can be utilised in food material handling, assembly and packaging, to name a few.

These tools allow for hand-guided programming, allowing users to direct teach points even without a pendant. The ISO standard tool flange and electrical connections enable a plug and play approach for easy deployment.

Through Power and Force Limiting (PFL) technology and pinchless geometry, the human workforce can enjoy enhanced safety. External utilities are eliminated as well, as the design contains a thru-arm category 6 Ethernet cable, an I/O cable and dual air lines. Setting up the system is fast, safe and easy in case communications fail.

The overall structure is built from cast aluminum for durability. It is also IP67-rated for damp or splash-prone areas, great for environments where consistent wiping or washing down is necessary. NSF H1-certified food-grade grease is also included, which is great for use when there’s a risk of incidental food contact. These cobots also meet ISO 13849-1 and ISO TS15066 standards.

They are currently available in two models, with payload capacity ranging from 10 to 20kg, reaching maximum of 1,379 to 1,900mm.
